Seafood

While a good seafood restaurant is difficult to find in the Weddington area, there are a few incredible options if you are willing to travel. Of course, Lake Norman holds two of our recommended restaurants, but they are worth every minute of the drive time.

No.1 | Hello, Sailor • Lake Norman

Feel like you've stepped back in time at Hello, Sailor. The vibe is nostalgia, mixed with contemporary and a hint of hipster all tied up with a crab leg bow.

What we order • Citrus Crab Louie Salad or King Crab Legs

Patio point out • There is nothing quite like watching the boats on the water while you dine. The patio at Hello, Sailor. It quite possibly could be the best spot at Lake Norman.

No.2 | The Waterman • SouthEnd

You get a feeling almost like you are stepping aboard a yacht and the meal will be like it was just caught outside the doors. Everything is so fresh and seasoned just so.

What we order • The Blackened Seafood Platter or Fisherman's Pick Sandwich

Patio point out • The view of Uptown from the rooftop patio makes dining here an experience.

No.3 | Fin and Fino • Uptown

Cozy is how we would best describe everything about Fin and Fino. Cozy explains the depth of the cocktails, the plates of the most delicious seafood and the service you will receive. No matter if you need a date night or to celebrate, Fin and Fino is where it's at.

What we order • The Trout, if it is available, or the Tower of Power • it is just that a powerhouse of seafood • shrimp, lobster tails, blue crab, oysters, mussels, and poke

No.4 | Port City Club • Lake Norman

This waterfront restaurant sits on the shore of Lake Norman. It has a more upscale feel to it but not stuffy or uninviting. There are view of the lake from every room and the food reflects that fresh from the lake or sea emotion. During the warmer months it's a good idea to make a reservation.

What we order • Crab Cakes and PEI Mussels

18665 Harborside Dr. • 704.765.1565

No.5 | Rocksalt • SouthPark

Best known for their extremely fresh and super tasty oysters, Rocksalt has three oyster options • Rappahannock, Rochambeau, and Olde Salt.

What we order • The Rocksalt Tower • 8 of each oyster, 8 clams, 18 crab cocktail claws, 12 shrimp. If that is a little more than you can eat, we recommend the Chesapeake Platter.

Patio point out • Come sit and relax on their patio no matter the weather. The patio is covered to keep the rain away and heated in the cooler months.
